Qatar Charity (QC) has honoured the winning youth volunteer initiatives in its "Initiatives Challenge" programme implemented during Ramadan, in appreciation of their efforts in supporting the humanitarian projects.
At the honouring ceremony, the prizes, the certificates of appreciation and honorary shields were handed over to the winning initiatives; Qatar Generations, O Type and Future Compass, which were earlier declared as the first, second and third winners, respectively, of the programme.
Speaking at the ceremony, Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, CEO’s assistant for the Programme and Community Development Sector at QC, expressed happiness at honouring the winners and participants in the programme, which received a good response. He considered all the participants as winners because their participation supported the humanitarian and charitable projects for the benefit of society, appreciating the efforts of the participants and the judges in the success of the programme.
He also noted that Qatar Charity seeks to promote a culture of volunteering and is keen to encourage volunteer initiatives.
Fatima Jumah AlMohannadi, director of the Programmes and Community Development Department at Qatar Charity, congratulated the winners of the 'Initiatives Challenge' programme, thanking them for their successful efforts in supporting the humanitarian work and community service. She said QC is keen to engage volunteers and sponsor youth programmes, activities and initiatives to contribute to the development of society.
The winners expressed happiness with the honour they received, terming it as an incentive to make more efforts to serve society. Eman al-Obaide, the CEO and founder of Future Compass, which won second place in the programme, said this honour is very important as it encourages the winners to make more efforts for the benefit of society, praising Qatar Charity's efforts in supporting youth initiatives.
