Ambassador of Qatar to Mexico Mohamed bin Jassim al-Kuwari stated that about 90 percent of the facilities for the World Cup Qatar 2022 are ready.
In an interview with Fox Sport, he pointed out that Qatar continues to host the most important sporting events, which is useful for testing the stadiums and infrastructure before the big event, stating that the World Cup Qatar will be characterised by the use of sustainable energy, ease of movement and the ability to watch two matches per day.
In another interview with France 24, he affirmed that Qatar is proceeding with a comprehensive reform to promote and protect the rights of workers, noting that the last period witnessed a remarkable development in the promotion and protection of the rights of expatriate workers to Qatar.
He referred to the abolition of the sponsorship system and its replacement with a contractual system, the abolition of legal restrictions related to changing jobs, and the enactment of a law setting a minimum wage, explaining that the International Labour Organisation (ILO) has stated that with the entry into force of these legislations, Qatar will become a model for the region regarding the rights of migrant workers.
