"I would like to thank for the opportunity to be able to give few remarks on the very important and comprehensive interview of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani to the chief editors of Qatari newspapers.
"We would also like to emphasise that this interview will be delivered to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Serbian Government by the Embassy, because of the strategic importance for the number of issues that it contains, in domestic and foreign policy theatre.
"I would like to congratulate to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad al-Thani and to HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani for the sucessful preparations for the Shura Council Elections, that will take place in October this year.
"The Shura Council Elections are of great importance for Qatar, the Arab World and the Middle East. We regard as very important the remarks of HE the Prime Minister about all the preparations that are taking place, as well as the steps to regulate the election process, financing, to denounce of any possibility of fraud and corruption or foreign interference.
"As far as fight against the Covid-19 pandemic is concerned, we pay tribute to Qatar's vaccination campaign, with the best vaccines available. I myself, my family and the personnel of the Embassy have been fully vaccinated thanks to the selfless efforts of the Qatari Authorities. It goes without saying that the plan to inoculate of all non-vaccinated visitors of the World Cup is worth of every admiration and sincere congratulation.
"For sure, the preparations for the Arab Cup in December 2021 at the Lusail Stadium and the Football World Cup in November 2022 in Qatar are going as planned, as indicated in HE the Prime Minister's interview. We are sure that all the stadiums and other infrastructure in Qatar would be master-pieces of construction and art and will astonish the whole world.
"In the internal economic and political arena, HE the Prime Minister has informed about the minimum retirement pension for citizens to QR15,000 and all the other comprehensive reforms that are undertaken here in Qatar, of course, under the prudent leadership of His Highness the Amir, for the welfare of expatriates.
"The Qatari authorities are setting an example for the rest of the world by implementing the best possible measures for a crime and corruption free society. Of course, the strengthening of the e- government will only contribute to such initiatives. We in the Embassy are closely following all the developments and inform the Serbian Government about all the measures and steps that Qatar is undertaking."
