Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has announced that it will celebrate the graduation of the fourth and fifth cohorts on June 26.
The event will include the class of 2020 and 2021 with a total of 153 and 215 graduates, respectively.
On this occasion, DI's acting president and vice-president of Academic Affairs, Dr Abdelwahab El Affendi, expressed pride in the students and wished them every success.
Indicating that honouring graduates in these exceptional circumstances, in view of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent precautionary measures that covered all aspects of life, is to be "considered an achievement that will remain present in the conscience".
El Affendi appreciated the efforts and contributions of the graduates, for their hard work and performance, as well as for their support in developing DI’s performance and achieving its mission through seriousness and commitment. Adding that both cohorts and faculty members have overcome the challenges with great abilities to adapt, innovate and use the possibilities to find solutions to the most difficult problems and to work under the most difficult conditions, DI has said in a statement.
Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad, DI executive director of the Administration and Finance Division, praised the graduates and said the ceremony is a tribute to those students who have concluded a significant phase of their lives full of perseverance and are planning to start the next chapter of their professional, academic and research career.
Ali Menadi al-Kaabi, director of the Communication and External Relations Department, said attendance would be limited to graduates, organisers and senior officials from DI. Considering the current Covid-19 pandemic, safety and precautionary measures approved by the State will be announced well in advance of the event, in co-operation with the Security and Safety Department, and Facilities Department.
