MME sign agreements to enhance environment, wildlife protection

On the occasion of the World Desertification and Drought Day, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment's (MME) Protection and Wildlife Department has signed a joint cooperation agreement each with the Qatar Livestock Society (Anaam) and Al Shabhanah Environmental Association.
The aim is to enhance areas of co-operation to maintain the well-being of the environment and wildlife in the country. Talib Khalid al-Shahwani, director of the Protection and Wildlife Department, explained that it is also envisaged to exchange experiences, while devising adequate solutions for the related issues.
Mubarak Rashid al-Sahwati, chairman of Anaam, said that the society launching its related livestock projects came out of the keenness of the livestock owners and farmers to preserve the local environment. He also stressed the society's keenness to maintain an active partnership with the MME in related issues.
Similarly, the officials at Al Shabhanah Environmental Association expressed their appreciation for such a move and described it as an excellent initiative that would reflect positively on the local environment.
