The Ministry of Culture and Sports, represented by the Youth Affairs Department, is preparing to launch a package of youth services to be added to the sports and cultural services currently provided by the ministry.
Director of the Youth Affairs Department Maha al-Rumaihi said that this is the first time that a launch is being done for special services for the youth sector, aimed at promoting and organising youth work through the issuing of youth services licenses and setting a framework for regulating the rights, duties and responsibilities of those wishing to engage in special activities in the youth sector; in addition to raising the level of the services' quality, developing them and qualifying those in charge of providing these services through specific standards that guarantee quality and reliability; and opening new areas and opportunities for those wishing to invest and work in this sector.
Al-Rumaihi noted that the youth services which the ministry will launch during the coming period include a permit service for setting up youth events, a service for granting a certificate of qualification to engage in youth activities, a licensing service for a private youth centre, and a service for licensing undertakings to organise youth activities.
In order to introduce the services, their conditions and the steps for providing them, the Youth Affairs Department prepared a guideline for granting licenses and permits to conduct activities in the youth sector. The guideline has been published on the ministry's website, to allow those interested to learn in detail about each of the youth services that will be provided.
Head of the Youth Work Organisation and Development Section Nasser al-Jabri explained that the guideline contains two parts. The first includes the general controls and requirements for the ministry's approval to engage in activities related to the youth sector, in addition to the general controls and requirements for granting permits to organise youth events, and the steps for obtaining a license to engage in special activities in the youth sector. The second part contains a description of the special activities in the youth sector, the special requirements for obtaining approval for the practice of activities, as well as the requirements for granting a certificate of qualification to practice youth activities.
