The MoU comes within the framework of the pledges made by Qatar after the explosion at Beirut Port last year, to provide aid to Lebanon, and to follow up on its previous pledges.

Qatar, represented by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), singed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lebanon, represented by the Ministry of Health, to reconstruct the old building of the Karantina Hospital in Beirut. The MoU comes within the framework of the pledges made by Qatar after the explosion at Beirut Port last year, to provide aid to Lebanon, and to follow up on its previous pledges, in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani at Paris International Conference, allocating $50mn to support the brotherly Lebanese people. The MoU aims to reconstruct and equip Building (B) of Beirut Governmental Hospital - Karantina, which was completely damaged as a result of the explosion.
