Qatar's ambassador to Mexico Mohamed bin Jassim al-Kuwari has said that the state has carried out multiple labour reforms, including the minimum wage for employees and determining working hours in a hot climate, stressing that Qatar supports human rights.
In an interview with Mexican Milenio TV, the ambassador described the reports about the death of 10,000 workers during the construction of the 2022 Qatar World Cup stadiums as rumours, pointing to the International Labour Organisation's praise of Qatar in protecting workers' rights.
He pointed out that Qatar has vaccinated a large section of its population against the coronavirus (Covid-19), indicating that the vaccination programme will cover everyone soon.
The ambassador explained that Mexicans can enter Qatar now and until the World Cup without a visa and it is possible to enter Qatar without quarantine if the person has been vaccinated. (QNA)
