Birla Public School (BPS) recently observed the World Environment Day 2021 on a virtual platform under the theme – ‘Ecosystem Restoration,’ with the goal of sensitising children on ways to restore the eco-system.
Students from all sections witnessed the show with some speaking on the importance of the day.
The students dressed in shades of greens and blues represented the colours of Earth. The kids were made aware of the importance to understand their role to protect the environment in little ways they can; to reduce or limit their requirements; to reuse things and materials whenever possible; to refuse to overindulge; to find a way to repurpose use of things; and most importantly recycle waste materials. The PowerPoint presentation emphasised the importance and means to save water, plant more trees, take care of animals, and keep the surroundings free of litter.
The programme also included a documentary released by the UNO and a quiz. Vice head girl Shaymanti Bhowmik rendered a song based on the music of the popular song ‘Do Re Me’, to highlight the precautions needed during the current pandemic.
BPS principal A P Sharma and Rajesh Pillai, vice principal, co-scholastic, praised the efforts of the members of the School Eco Club and encouraged them to be agile environmental warriors.
