Qatari Businesswomen's Association (QBWA) participated in the just concluded 24th St-Petersburg International Economic Forum in St Petersburg, Russia, with the participation of Qatar as a guest country.
The delegation, which included QBWA Board members Awatef al-Dafaa, Natra Abdullah, Amal al-Atham and executive director Jiskala Khalayli, attended the opening of the Qatar Pavilion at the Forum, which was inaugurated by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yury Borisov and representatives of major companies and institutions from Russia and Qatar.
In addition to the forum, the delegation attended a number of meetings with a group of Russian companies working in various fields and signed two memoranda of understanding with the Interregional Association of Women’s Business in St Petersburg, chaired by Olga Khodakovskaya and All Russian Public Organisation of Businesswomen, chaired by Tatiana Gvilava, chairman of the Russian-Arab Business Council, to activate co-operation between businesswomen of the two countries and create new opportunities.
The delegation also inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Qatar held by Imperial Porcelain, one of the oldest top manufacturers of Porcelain, showcasing a wide range of their porcelain pieces in the most important museums in Russia and the world.
