With an objective to sensitise the children about the ways to restore the ecosystem, MES Indian School recently celebrated World Environment Day 2021 on the virtual mode under the theme, ‘Ecosystem Restoration.’
The students of all sections participated in various activities. A special assembly was conducted virtually to celebrate the day wherein the students gave speeches followed by students’ pledge to preserve their self-sustaining planet for the ecosystem restoration.
To mark the occasion, various competitions were also conducted which included ‘Be a Designer’ (painting) activity and show-and-tell activity for the kindergarten which made them understand the ways to conserve the environment. Painting for Classes I-IV, poster designing for V-VI, ‘Best out of Waste’ for VII and VIII, and collage making for IX and X gave the students platforms to showcase their artistic and creative skills.
The students made creative products like wall hangings, cards, pen stands, bags, paper box, flowers and even beautiful dresses. ‘Be a Reporter’ (PowerPoint presentation) gave the students of Classes XI and XII an opportunity to play the role of young environment reporters.
MES principal Hameeda Kadar appreciated the efforts of the students and urged them to be the future caretakers of the world environment. In-charge of Campus Care Force – Jency George, Celci Sebastian, Sumayyabi Shanuj, Sibby Shaji, and Nisha George organised the event.
