The Police Training Institute on Thursday hosted the graduation of trainees from two investigation courses and basic criminal investigation methods for officers of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Lekhwiya. MoI tweeted that a total of 66 officers graduated during the function. Director-General of the Police College Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah al-Muhana al-Marri and US officials Christopher Morrison (acting director, Regional Security Office) and Hisham al-Gamil (legal attache, US Embassy) along with a number of officers of MoI and Lekhwiya.
At the beginning of the ceremony, al-Marri gave a speech in which he stressed the importance of the training courses in raising the level of professional performance. He said it’s an opportunity to enhance various skills to meet the challenges and achieve the desired results, as well as strengthen the bonds of communication in the security field with partners from inside and outside the country.
The first training course, in which 24 officers participated, aimed to enhance the skills of the officers and develop their sense of security. A total of 42 officers participated in the Basic Criminal Investigation Techniques course which featured topics including the skills of collecting basic evidence and dealing with criminal investigations. The course also included practical training through case studies for several events, with the aim of raising the investigation skills of security men.
