An auction organised recently by the Evacuation and Judicial Auction Department at the Supreme Judiciary Council through the courts auctions app fetched a total sum of more than QR231mn from selling a building and a plot of land out of a total of 10 buildings. There was no bidding for the other eight pieces of real estate. Yousef Mohamed al-Bakir, head of the department, told local Arabic daily 'Arrayah' that the building sold was a house that fetched QR1,372,169 and the piece of land was sold for QR229,689,010. The first edition of online auctions was held by the department on November 25 last year.
