Qatar Charity (QC) distributed gifts to its volunteers and staff at the Covid-19 vaccination centre in the Doha Industrial Area during Eid al-Fitr, in appreciation of their efforts against the coronavirus pandemic.
Some 370 volunteers, medical staff and other employees of the centre received the gifts and "expressed delight and gratitude for this kind gesture", QC said in a statement.
As part of its ongoing awareness-raising efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar Charity continues to recruit more volunteers to extend support to the vaccination centre. Currently, 100 volunteers of QC work at the centre on a daily basis.
Qatar Charity has also provided supervisers to train the volunteers and co-ordinate between the volunteering section at QC and the volunteers.
The volunteers at the vaccination centre carry out various tasks such as educating visitors about taking precautionary measures (social distancing, wearing masks and using sanitisers), organizing their entry and exit, and helping them get vaccinated.
The centre helps those living and working in the Doha Industrial Area and surrounding areas to get vaccinated. "More than 250,000 workers have so far received one of the Covid-19 vaccine doses. The centre provides the first and second doses according to the national standards for priority groups," the QC statement adds.
