The summer season may just be around the corner but many Doha residents still find public parks as the best places to hangout and exercise, especially with the start of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in the country from Friday.
As part of the new directive from Qatari authorities, gatherings at public parks, beaches, and the Corniche for a maximum of five people or family members residing in the same house have resumed. While Qatar had opened several public parks in recent years, the Dahl Al Hamam Park remains to be an attractive destination for families due to its lush greenery, charming beauty, and a number of salient features.
Dahl Al Hamam Park, located along Arab League Street and opposite Tawar Mall in Doha, has a walk path that leads visitors to different green spaces, playgrounds, and play areas (but this will remain closed until further notice). One of the park’s main feature is its unique skating rink, which is expected to attract skaters once other Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. It also has small arch bridges that serve as additional attraction for park-goers.
Like other major public parks and locations in the country, Dahl Al Hamam also gives visitors a visual treat of a number of dates trees and cassia fistula, or better known as ‘golden shower trees’. A number of park-goers have noticed that the dates trees have started bearing fruits. PICTURES: Shaji Kayamkulam.
