The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) said that it is working, through the School Health Services and Program Department, and in continuous co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), to provide a healthy environment for students during the exam period.
PHCC pointed out that School Health Services appreciates the tension that students and their families feel during this important stage of the school year, which may directly affect the final results of students. PHCC said in a statement that School Health Services and Program Department has updated the school health protocol for the precautionary measures that must be followed during this time in accordance with the country national response plan.
The updated protocol includes creating a healthy and safe school environment suitable for students and all school personnel, through the precautionary measures used to conduct the end-of-semester exams. It lays emphasis on the need to adhere to the general guidelines applied in the country, and the importance of maintaining a safe distance in classrooms and in all school facilities and school buses, wash and sterilise hands constantly, follow coughing and sneezing etiquette, wearing face mask, eating healthy balanced food to enhance immunity, as well as constantly cleaning and disinfecting the school environment with the need not to share school tools among students to prevent the spread of infection.
In a related context, PHCC urged all school employees to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) Fawzia al-Khater yesterday made a daily inspection visit to secondary schools to review the preparations for examinations.
