The designated authorities referred 574 people to prosecution for violating the preventive and precautionary measures enforced by the country to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Sunday.
Among them, 436 people were referred to the prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, 83 for gathering at parks and the Corniche, 51 for not maintaining safe physical distancing and three for not installing the Ehteraz app. Also, one person was referred to the prosecution for violating the rule on the number of people allowed in a vehicle.
The measure is in line with the Cabinet decision, Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19. The authorities have called on the public to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to ensure their safety and that of others.
