Trails Sport Events, in co-operation with Qatar Charity (QC), organised a virtual running race in Ramadan to support the “Eid Gifts for Orphans in Qatar” project.
Some 600 male and female participants of all ages from 37 nationalities took part in the race to garner support for the project.
The QC transferred the proceeds of the race as Eid gifts to the accounts of the orphans to enable them to purchase desired items before Eid al-Fitr.
The race, which focused on the importance of continuing the practice of sports during Ramadan, aims to promote the values of human connection and compassion in society, and instilling the values of solidarity and mutual support.
At the end of the competition, the contestants received unique magnetic glow-in-the-dark medals.
Farid al-Siddiqi, head of the Local Projects section at the QC, coiced appreciation for the support of Trails Sport Events, expressing his pride in its contribution, and the incorporation of charity work into sports.
The donation of the proceeds from the registration for the race made a good contribution to the “Eid Gifts for Orphans” projects.
He said that the QC is keen to get all cultural, social and sports initiatives involved in supporting its programmes and projects, emphasising that the QC always desires to co-operate and partner with relevant companies and institutions to garner support for various humanitarian activities.
Trails Sport Events expressed delight with the participants’ sporting effort, which had a positive impact on their health, as well as a charitable impact on others by donating for orphans in Ramadan.
Trails Sport Events also thanked the QC for its efforts in implementing the project that drew a smile on the faces of orphans.
