Qatar University (QU) has announced separate graduation ceremonies for its Class of 2020 female students which will take place in the mornings and evenings in the QU Sports and Events Complex from May 31 to June 5.
The graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on the QU YouTube Channel. The graduates will be received on stage by the dean of their respective colleges and in the presence of a guest of honour and organisers. All necessary safety and precautionary measures approved by the state will be implemented to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The College of Business and Economics, Graduate Studies, majors of Management, Marketing, Management and Information Systems will have their graduation from 5 pm on May 31.
The College of Business and Economics majors of Accounting, Economics and Finance will hold the ceremony on June1 from 10 am. Graduation ceremony for College of Education will be held from 5 pm on June1.
Graduation of the students of College of Sharia & Islamic Studies and College of Law will be from 10 am on June 2 while College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences and College of Pharmacy will have the ceremony from 5pm on June 2.
On June 3, from 10 am, students of College of Arts & Sciences, Graduate Studies , majors of Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Sport Science, English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic will have their graduation ceremony and on the same day from 5 pm the students of College of Arts & Sciences, majors of History, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology will have their graduation event.
College of Arts & Sciences, majors of Mass Communications, International Affairs and Policy, Planning & Development will hold the graduation ceremony on June 5 from 10 am.
The QU graduation ceremony is an annual tradition since its inception in 1977, celebrating students in bachelor and postgraduate degrees. The graduates typically complete the final step in their university journey in the presence of QU president, university vice presidents and officials, faculty, alumni and their family, in addition to VIP guests.
Due to the pandemic, this year’s attendance will be limited to only graduates and organisers. This year’s graduating class includes students from a full academic year that encompasses Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020.
