The departments concerned at municipalities across the country have intensified their inspection campaigns ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays, to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of all food outlets, public place, and roads.
The inspectors at Doha Municipality's Health Control Section have toured all commercial complexes and shops selling nuts and sweets besides popular kitchens to ensure the safety of food on display. They also inspected the livestock carcasses at the slaughterhouses on daily basis.
The inspectors also gave special focus on the central market where they examined the fruits and vegetables on display. A specialised team of veterinarians and food inspectors took part in the efforts to guarantee the highest levels of food safety for potential consumers.
Similarly, Al Wakra Municipality's Health Control Section carried out a number of campaigns on the food facilities, outlets and providers across its jurisdiction, including the fish market, and the central market. The restaurants, eateries and sweets and nuts shops were checked especially. The inspectors follow closely any related complaints to resolve them immediately.
Al Shamal Municipality has made all the necessary preparations for the upcoming Eid holidays. Comprehensive public cleaning works were carried out and insecticides and disinfectants sprayed at the targeted places for the protection of public health. The Municipality has also adopted a full plan for the continuity of its services work during the holidays to ensure the inspection and supervision of the slaughterhouses and the food outlets, especially those selling fish, meat and poultry.
In the same way, Al Sheehaniya Municipality has carried out its work plan for the Eid preparations, intensifying the food inspection campaigns and continuing its veterinary control over the slaughterhouses, ensuring smooth operations for the convenience of the public.
