India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a counselling app, 'CBSE Dost For Life' for the psychosocial well-being of students from Classes 9 to 12.
MES Indian School principal Hameeda Kadar is appointed the counsellor for Qatar region to provide pre-examination psychological counselling to students (appearing for board exams) and their parents at the time of preparation as well as during the examination to overcome exam-related stress.
The live counselling sessions which started from May 10, are free of cost and held thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by trained counsellors/principals.
The app will cater to a variety of issues that are faced by students, such as exam anxiety, internet addiction disorder, depression, specific learning disability, exam related traumatic stress disorder etc,
Students/parents can download the app available on Google Play Store. They can choose any of the two-time slots: 9.30 am to 1.30 pm or 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm and connect through a chat box as per their convenience.
In addition, the CBSE has prepared educative material on social, emotional, and behavioural issues such as exam anxiety, internet addiction disorder, depression, specific learning disability, substance use disorder, aggression, and life skills to sensitise students and masses alike and can be accessed at cbse.nic.in and the YouTube channel of CBSE.
