While preparing to welcome Eid-al-Fitr, the Doha Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department of the Municipal Control Department, has carried out intensive and continuous inspection campaigns on a number of food establishments within its jurisdiction. According to an official statement by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), 700 food establishments were inspected and 13 notices issued after violations were found. In addition, 24 complaints were examined by the officials in order to resolve them immediately.
The Public Hygiene Department at the MME has completed its preparations for Eid al-Fitr and intensified efforts to clean and sweep the main streets, public places, cities and residential areas. This is in addition to washing all waste bins and containers. Cleaning works will continue round-the-clock during the Eid holidays.
Special field teams have been formed for Eid-al-Fitr while cleaning works will cover all areas of the country while focusing on the important places. The works include washing and sweeping the Eid prayer grounds. These are in addition to providing adequate waste containers and keeping them clean.
The MME has urged the public to maintain public cleanliness in the public places and deposit waste only in the designated containers. They can call 184 to report violations and for assistance.
