Qatar Charity (QC), with the support from people in Qatar, continues to distribute Zakat Al-Fitr to QC-sponsored low-income persons and families of orphans during the remaining days of Ramadan, as part of its "Ramadan of Hope" campaign.
The distribution of Zakat Al-Fitr aims to share the joy of Eid with the beneficiaries and alleviate their suffering in light of the continuing coronavirus pandemic. The project aims to benefit 456,700 people at an estimated cost of 5.9 million Qatari riyals.
In Sudan, Zakat Al-Fitr was distributed to about 4,800 families most in need in the states of Khartoum and South Darfur. Some 33,000 persons are expected to benefit from the project. Each family receives 30kgm of flour.
In Palestine, Zakat Al-Fitr was distributed to nearly 2,500 families of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity. All beneficiaries received food parcels.
The beneficiaries of Sudan and Palestine expressed their delight with receiving Zakat Al-Fitr, which contributed to easing the burdens on them, especially on Eid Al-Fitr, thanking Qatar Charity and the benevolent people of Qatar for supporting them, particularly in light of the continuing coronavirus pandemic.
Qatar Charity continues to receive Zakat Al-Fitr through its headquarters, branches, and collection points located in commercial complexes across the country, in addition to paying Zakat Al-Fitr through Qatar Charity’s website and app.
