The VIP Toastmasters Club recently conducted an open house meeting through the Zoom portal with participants from around the globe.
The keynote speaker was Jim Kokocki, who was the international president from 2015-16 at the headquarters.
Kokocki was welcomed by Thayalan Kayilapillai, Qatar District director.
Kokocki spoke on 'How to Grow Our Comfort Zone'. He listed out different ways through which an individual can grow his comfort zone and develop himself.
The meeting was led by toastmaster of the day – Chandrasekhar Angadi, who made it very entertaining and funny with the theme of 'Make It Happen'.
There was a prepared speech session with a speaker from Russia, Michael Wader.
The table topics session was conducted by Vicky Ferrer involving speakers from Sweden, the US, Greece and Canada.
The highlight was the participation of differently-abled participant Dianne Mcinroy. Though she could not speak, she expressed her views by displaying her emotions. She inspired all the participants.
The general evaluator was Deepak Justin, who was three-time international speech title winner at District 92. He gave suggestions to further improve the conduct of meetings.
Role players were guests from around the globe who made the meeting impressive.
The event was well organised by Victoria Ferrer from California, US and Nalini Mathur, the club coach.
District PQD Mansoor Mohideen, DBD Riano Pinto, Suryanarayanan, Vimalraj and Ravisankar participated in the meeting.
Club president Jothinathan said he was overwhelmed by the open house response and expected the same support from the Area, Division and District to help the club grow to international standards. Vice-president, education, Ramani Ramamoorthy presented the vote of thanks.
