The General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) Tueday allocated QR465,000 for Wifaq Family Consulting Centre.
The announcement came at a press conference by Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem al-Thani, director general of the General Administration of Endowments and Rashid bin Ahmed al-Dossari, executive director of Wifaq Family Consulting Centre.
An Awqaf statement quoted Dr al-Thani as saying that there is a close relationship between Awqaf and various institutions that serve various groups of society and the family in particular.
"Awqaf has established the endowment bank for the family and childhood and the bank deals with family and childhood projects while cooperating with various parties in this field.
"Among the pioneering projects adopted by the endowment bank for the family and childhood are the qualification courses for citizens about to marry.
“These courses have the effect of transferring experiences to the new generation, and preparing the spouses to build a cohesive family with knowledge.
"Wifaq Centre provides various services to needy families and gives appropriate treatment for social, psychological and health problems, and co-operate with the competent authorities to implement joint motherhood and childhood programmes."
Al-Dossari praised the support of the General Administration of Endowments to sponsor the programmes.
