* 41.4% of eligible population in Qatar has received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine
No walk-ins will be accepted at any of the vaccination centres, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reiterated this while issuing a reminder about the appointment process at these centres.
"To help us deliver a smooth and efficient service, and for your own safety and that of our healthcare staff, we ask you to please follow the instructions below at the main vaccination centres," the ministry said in a post on social media yesterday.
* Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), Vaccination Centre Industrial Area and primary health centres
- The health authorities will notify eligible people about their scheduled appointments when their turn comes.
- People visiting these centres without a fixed appointment will not be vaccinated.
* Drive-through vaccination centres in Lusail and Al Wakra
- Only second doses are administered. No appointment is needed but people must wait until the due date for their second dose. They can then visit at any time during operational hours.
- No second doses will be given before the due date: 21 days after the first dose for Pfizer/BioNTech and 28 days after the first dose for Moderna.
A total of 1,469,633 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Qatar so far, with 26,925 doses given in the last 24 hours, according to the daily data published by the MoPH yesterday.
The MoPH said 41.4% of the eligible population in Qatar has now received at least one dose of the vaccine. Also, 85% of over-60s (the most vulnerable population group) has been vaccinated with at least one dose, while 73.1% have received both doses.
The National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme is being delivered at more than 35 vaccination centres across Qatar, including the Primary Health Care Corporation 27 primary health centres, vaccination facilities at QNCC and in the Industrial Area, and two drive-through vaccination centres in Lusail and Al Wakra.
Recently, the MoPH had reduced the age threshold for vaccine eligibility to 35 years, enabling a wider section of the population to be vaccinated and become protected against Covid-19.
