* 22.3% of eligible population fully vaccinated against Covid-19
* 39.9% of eligible population receive at least one dose

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that 507,743 people have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccines, meaning that 22.3% of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated against the virus, Qatar News Agency reports.
Reaching the milestone of more than half a million fully vaccinated people comes as the MoPH also announced that 1,415,761 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination programme, accounting for 39.9% of the eligible population.
The National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme is being delivered at more than 35 vaccination centres across Qatar, including Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC)'s 27 primary health centres, vaccination facilities at Qatar National Convention Centre and in the Industrial Area, and two drive-through vaccination centres in Lusail and Al Wakra.

The availability of more vaccines as well as the opening of additional vaccination centres has enabled Qatar to significantly increase the pace of the vaccination programme since February, and during each of the past four weeks more than 160,000 doses have been administered.
Last week, the MoPH reduced the age threshold for vaccine eligibility to 35 years, enabling a wider section of the population to be vaccinated and become protected against Covid-19.
A significant proportion of people within the priority groups have now been vaccinated, with 84.5% of people over 60 years of age, 76.6% of people over 50 years of age and 63.9% of people over 40 years of age having received at least one vaccine dose. Also, 81.2% of people over 70 years of age and 79.5% of people over 80 years of age have received at least one vaccine dose, according to the weekly update issued by the MoPH Sunday.
A total of 167,532 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered in the last seven days, the MoPH said, adding that one in three adults has received at least one dose of the vaccines.
PHCC teams continue to directly contact people who are eligible by SMS or phone call to arrange their appointment. Anyone wishing to register their interest in receiving the Covid-19 vaccine can do so via this page on the MoPH website.
