Qatar Rail, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), announced the launch of a new Green Metro commitment to mark World Earth Day 2021 Thursday (April 22) and raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment.
The initiative, which forms part of Qatar Rail’s continued commitment to sustainability and the environment, will witness Doha Metro planting a tree for every 5mn customer journeys taken on the metro until World Earth Day 2030.

This move reaffirms Qatar Rail’s commitment and contributions to a sustainable future, and will help create a green space legacy for all. "These trees will become a visual representation of our inputs to the environmental sustainability agenda, for both this and future generations to come," a statement said.
