The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that 35.5% of people aged 16 years and above have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since the start of Qatar’s National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.
In its weekly update on Sunday, the MoPH said out of three adults in the country has got at least one dose of the vaccine so far.
The ministry informed that 1,248,229 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the country until now, with 168,453 doses being given in the last seven days.
A further break-up of the data shows that 82.8% of people over 60 years of age, 80.1% of people over 70 years of age, and 78.4% of people over 80 years of age have now received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Covid-19 vaccines are being administered at health centres, vaccination facilities at Qatar National Convention Centre and the Doha Industrial Area, as well as two drive-through vaccination centres in Al Wakra and Lusail.
On Saturday, the MoPH had announced that the age threshold for Covid-19 vaccine eligibility had been lowered to 35 years.
The change comes as part of the phased rollout of the National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, which continues to pick up pace.
