Qatar participated in the 48th meeting of the Technical Council of the GCC Standardisation Organisation (GSO), which was held virtually.
During the meeting, Qatar was represented by the Chairperson of Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation and Metrology (QGOSM) Engineer Mohamed bin Saud al-Musallam.
During the meeting, they discussed the report on the workflow of the Gulf technical committees for standards, as well as GSO's memorandum on the evaluation of the committees for the year 2020, and a memo regarding the technical work guide for standardisation.
The meeting also addressed the outcomes of the 31st meeting of the Steering Committee for Metrology and the report of the chairperson of the GCC metrology group from November-March 2021.
Additionally, it discussed the memorandum from the GSO presidency regarding the guideline on product safety, market survey and the developments of the GCC conformity system, in addition to the memorandum on the fifth meeting of the steering committee for recruitment.
With regard to the field of corporate services, the participants of the meeting reviewed the memorandum of the GSO presidency on the unified financial system for standardisation services, while in the field of strategy, they reviewed the memorandum of the GSO presidency on the strategic plan of GSO for the period 2021-2025, as well as the updates that emerged during the meeting.
