The Shura Council participated in a parliamentary conference held Thursday on the global challenges and threats in the context of Covid-19 pandemic related to terrorism and violent extremism. This came in the framework of the partnership between the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA-CIS), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT). The talks, which took place via video conference, focused on the importance of revising counter-terrorism policies and legislation. Participants also agreed on the importance of having a vibrant national dialogue and avoiding polarisation.
The Shura Council was represented by Khalid bin Abdullah al-Buainain, member of the council.
