Qatar Scientific Club of the Ministry of Culture and Sports has announced its activities for the holy month of Ramadan, which focus on scientific and cultural competitions, specialised workshops and interactive experiences through virtual platforms.
The club will present an interactive scientific programme on a weekly basis every Wednesday, in which the most important experiences of Muslim scholars, their achievements and their impact on the progress of mankind will be highlighted. Through the programme, the personalities of Muslim scholars and examples of their experiences will be presented in a simple, interesting scientific way, and these achievements will be explained in an interactive manner.
The Mawahib Programme will continue during the holy month. The weekly programme sheds light on the talented (below 25 years), in co-operation with the
Gifted Students Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and aims to provide a stimulating environment for talented, distinguished students, as they possess a sense of innovation, and have the ability to bring about positive change in a way that benefits them and the community.
Specialised Scientific and technological workshops in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence and electronic engineering will also be offered.
For the purpose of research and knowledge about aspects of miracles in the Holy Qur'an and the role of Muslim scholars in the scientific and cultural progress, in addition to information in the fields of science and technology, a daily Ramadan competition will be launched and the participants will be required to answer the question the same day, after which the winners will be announced on a weekly basis.
Regarding Ramadan activities, Managing Director of Qatar Scientific Club Fatima al-Mohannadi stated that the club focuses on Ramadan activities with social distancing and those that do not require leaving the house except for necessities due to the precautionary measures. Therefore programmes that encourage remote participation were launched and available to the largest possible segment, pointing out the continuity of the club's regular activities and programmes which implement the developing of technological projects, judging the Researcher 4 competition and providing technical and technological support services to members through available means of communication.
