Toastmasters International’s Division A of District 116 (Qatar) recently organised its annual contest, TAC-A 2021, over Zoom. The annual conference was opened by Division director Subair Pandavath.
The audience was enthralled by performances of all the contestants in the table topic, humorous, evaluation, and international speeches. Officials from District 116 including District director Thayalan K, PQD Manzoor Moideen, CGD Rajesh VC, Division A director Subair Pandavath along with other dignitaries namely, Rajeshwar Sundaresan, Raghavan Menon, Sonny Varghese, and Anil Nair, attended this event.
Toastmasters, who competed in the table topics session, were Smitha Abraham, Sumathy Rajakumar, Shinto Jose, Mohamed Nizar, Gopalakrishnan Selvam, Sunil Kumar Menon, Vijetha Rai, and Mubeen Mohd. Ali. Rauf Shahzad was the chief judge.
The contestants in the humorous category were Adeeba Anees, Sunil Kumar Menon, Amarnath Baburajan, Sumathy Rajakumar, Shinto Jose, Mohamed Nizar, Gopalakrishnan Selvam, Vijetha Rai and Mubeen Mohd. Ali. Asha Shiju was the chief judge.
Toastmasters Priya Sathyavijayan, Pooja Bhatt, Mohamed Nizar, Sunil Kumar Menon, Nirmala Raghuraman, Sumathy Rajakumar, Niloufer Samal and Balkrishna Karande participated in the evaluation speech contest. Philip Cherian was the chief judge.
The contestants in the international speech category were Aviroop Chandra, Mohamed Nizar, Niloufer Samal, Priya Sathyavijayan, Mubeen Mohd. Ali, and Sunil Kumar Menon. In the evaluation speech contest, Niloufer Samal, Sunil Kumar Menon, Lakshmi Padukone and Nishant Menon took part. Shyam Sunder was the chief judge. Sunil Kumar Menon bagged the first prize in all the four categories. He will represent Division A at the District level.
The keynote address was delivered by Bharti Naik. International President Richard Peck addressed the gathering at the closing ceremony. Krishna Saini was the TAC-A chair. The support team members were Alfonso Betito, Anwar Ali Rana, Balkees, Naser, Faisal al-Hudawi, Shoaib Asghar, Lavanya Nair, Namrata Tawde, Meenu Raj, Subbulakshmi, Indira Saravana Kumar, Atul Hardas, Zeenathun Nisha, Gunashekaran, Navaneeth Shetty, Sujitha Saini, Ruchita Dhanghadria, Subbaiah, Meenakshi, Abhijit Shankar, Mazhar Khan, Fousi Laiju, Kesavaraj Sampath, Sushil Garg and Leena Nair.
