Qatar Calendar House (QCH) said Sunday that, based on astronomical calculations, Tuesday, April 13 will be the first day of Ramadan as Monday, April 12 will be the last day of the month of Shaban 1442 AH. The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs is the authority to declare the start of the blessed month of Ramadan in Qatar.
Executive director of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, Engineer Faisal Mohamed al-Ansari said that the crescent of Ramadan for 1442 AH will be born on Monday, April 12 at dawn, at 5:31am Doha local time (2:31am GMT). The sun will set on Monday at 5:55pm, while the date of sunset for the Ramadan crescent will be at 6:16pm.
The legal decision to enter the blessed month of Ramadan for this year remains within the jurisdiction of the crescent vision investigation committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar.
