Birla Public School (BPS) recently celebrated its Annual Day of Primary-I and II wings with fervour, exuberance and elation.
Adapting to the new situation, this academic year witnessed the first ever online annual day of BPS.
Academic Director of CBSE Dr Joseph Emmanuel graced the occasion as the chief guest. The prominent people attending the event included School Chairman Gope Shahani; C V Rappai, and Lukose K Chacko, school board of directors; and Chindhu Antony Rappai and Neville Lukose, management representatives. The BPS leadership team, parents, students and teachers virtually attended the function. The event was telecast live on YouTube.
Shruti, headmistress of Primary-I, welcomed the gathering. Principal A P Sharma presented the annual report and congratulated the students for their academic achievements. Rajesh Pillai, vice principal, appreciated the students for their co-scholastic achievements.
Dr Joseph Emmanuel stated that BPS Qatar is one of the leading schools affiliated to CBSE and expressed his happiness in being a part of the celebration. C V Rappai lauded the efforts of the stakeholders for switching to e-learning. Lukose K Chacko stated that the motto of BPS is set with a vision and thereby advised the stakeholders to uphold true human values, especially in the present challenging conditions.
On the occasion, the BPS students, who topped in the CBSE board examinations 2019-2020 were felicitated.The students and teachers with five years of perfect attendance were also honoured. The cultural programmes started with ‘chalk, cheese and camera’ – a presentation of the glimpses of the teaching-learning process during the pandemic year. The band of musicians consisting of students and teachers of Primary-I enthralled the attendees with the song ‘Tell me Why’ throwing up a thoughtful message to the entire world. The musical dance drama “Mulan” by Primary-II students presented the story of dignity, honour and perseverance. The Day 1 function concluded, with the vote of thanks by Primary-II Co-ordinator Bhayatri Pillai.
