Another spell of strong northerly winds is expected in the country from Saturday afternoon, along with marine warnings and blowing dust at times, the Qatar Met department has said.

Temperatures are also expected to decrease due to the northwesterly winds, the weather office said in a report on Wednesday.

"The country is expected to be affected by northwesterly fresh to strong winds in most areas from Saturday (April 3) afternoon until Wednesday (April 7), ranging from 15-25 knots and gusting to 35 knots at times in some places," the report said.

This will result in blowing dust and low visibility below 2km, especially in open areas.

In addition, the wave height is expected to range from 5-8ft during this period, exceeding 10ft at times in some areas offshore. High tides are expected to coincide with the strong northwesterly winds and high seas, according to the Met department.

The forecast also states that temperatures are expected to decrease due to the northwesterly winds. The minimum temperature is expected to range from 16-22C and the maximum from 23-33C across the country.

"The Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious, avoid marine activities as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts," the report adds.
