Qatar University (QU) opened the two-day virtual Career Fair on Tuesday to provide the students and alumni the opportunity to meet and interact with employers to seek employment and training opportunities.

The Career Development Centre at QU organised the event in the presence of 170 students and more than 1,500 visitors. The exhibition featured 45 informational booths from government and private organisations.

First day featured five events including virtual CV clinic in Arabic and English, mock interviews in Arabic, Qatarisation Role presented by Qatar Islamic Bank in Arabic, virtual mock job interview workshop in Arabic and introduction to Al Darb programme presented by Qatar Airways in English.

Second day will feature events including virtual CV clinic in Arabic and English, mock interviews in Arabic and English, reach your full potential presented by North Oil Company in Arabic, create professional LinkedIn profile in collaboration with QU Library in English and leadership journey programme presented by Teach for Qatar in Arabic.

QU president Dr Hassan bin Rashid al-Derham said the institution continues to work to meet national requirements to achieve further progress and prosperity.

“Through this virtual exhibition we will be able to identify the most important professional opportunities offered by the Qatari labour market by participants from all sectors of the state. Opportunities of employment and field training will benefit students in developing their skills and from the lectures and training workshops that will be held during the exhibition,” he added.
