* Initiative comes in co-operation with QFA and Cini Solutions
Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed food packages and gifts among expatriate families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in co-operation with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Cini Solutions for Business and Trading.
Food aid, meat and gifts were distributed to 140 families of orphans and low-income families. The food aid included main food items, while gifts contained toys and sports clothes, QC said in a statement.
Jassim Mohamed al-Emadi, director of Programmes and Community Development at Qatar Charity, expressed appreciation for the contributions made by QFA and Cini Solutions, which made it easier for QC to distribute the aid among families affected by the pandemic.
He hoped that other companies and entities would follow the example set by QFA and Cini Solutions to support the projects and programmes implemented by QC within and outside Qatar for the benefit of those in need.
Al-Emadi noted that Qatar Charity, in co-operation with various bodies from the public and private sectors, have made significant efforts to contribute to limiting the spread of the coronavirus. It has distributed food baskets, awareness-raising materials, hygiene items and healthy meals to the beneficiaries, including workers and families with limited income, across the country.
Osama Suleiman, project management officer at Cini Solutions, thanked QC for the generous gesture that allowed the company to contribute to humanitarian and charitable work as part of its societal responsibility.
Applauding Qatar Charity for its humanitarian role, Suleiman said it is a pioneering humanitarian organisation, not only in Qatar, but also worldwide, as it allows donors to contribute to the charitable work across the world as per their choice.
He also noted that QC carries out highly credible humanitarian work, thus working with it is a source of pride for the company, looking forward to continuing co-operation between the company and Qatar Charity.
Qatar Charity distributed food baskets last month among 1,000 Syrian expatriate families and nearly 200 expatriate Yemeni families in Doha, in addition to distributing food packages to 120 families from various communities in Al Khor.
