The session dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them, especially in the fields of investment, economy, maritime and air transport and infrastructure, in addition to ways to enhance and develop cooperation between Qatar and the African Union.
During the session, views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
After the talks, the Amir and the president witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the governments of the two countries, such as the signing of an agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments, a general agreement for economic and commercial cooperation, an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of financial evasion, an agreement in the field of maritime transport, in addition to an agreement on air services.
The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding for the development and modernisation of maritime infrastructure, a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Qatar and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a memorandum of understanding in the field of civil aviation and meteorology, and a memorandum of understanding between Qatar Airways and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The session was attended by a number of ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying the DRC president.
Earlier upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan, an official reception ceremony was held for the president.
His Highness the Amir also hosted a luncheon banquet at the Amiri Diwan in honour of Felix Tshisekedi and the accompanying delegation. The banquet was attended by a number of ministers.
