Qatar University (QU) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with General Tax Authority (GTA) for joint cooperation in similar areas of interest.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, President of QU and Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi, Chairman of GTA.
The MoU aims to increase cooperation between the two parties to exchange information and experiences to raise efficiency in accordance with comprehensive quality standards according to the legislation and law.
The two parties affirmed their endeavor, through signing this agreement, to achieve the objectives, which include; exchange experiences and develop educational programs that serve both parties, training and building experiences among employees of the two institutions, field training for students, organizing conferences, workshops and other activities that work on development, knowledge and tax awareness, and conducting studies and applied research that achieve the goals of the two parties.
Commenting on the signing of this agreement, Dr. Hassan said, “The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of Qatar University's constant endeavor to cooperate with all institutions interested in supporting the university's march towards betterment of the Qatari community. This is a very important partnership between the two institutions with common goals.”
Dr. Al-Derham also said that Qatar University is keen to support and strengthen ties with the General Tax Authority to establish joint cooperation in various fields related to the scientific, administrative, technical and research fields.
Al-Mohannadi praised the role of Qatar University in serving the Qatari labor market by graduating scientifically and practically qualified students with all the theoretical and practical experiences the market needs.
