Qatar Airways Holidays has launched quarantine-free holiday packages to Athens and Mykonos.
Qatari citizens and residents who have completed the Covid-19 vaccination will have an opportunity to travel safely and experience Greece's splendid summer.
Travellers can choose to spend summer holidays in Athens, exploring unique archaeological areas, scenic neighbourhoods and beautiful beaches around the Attica peninsula, or visit Mykonos, the island synonymous with fun and entertainment and indulge in beautiful pristine beaches and picturesque views.
Qatar Airways Holidays offers three-night packages with the option to extend and include daily breakfast, transfers and local assistance for sightseeing and excursions. Guests visiting Mykonos can select their chosen accommodation from one of four hotels: three high-end, 5-star properties - Myconian Ambassador, Myconian Kyma and Myconian Villas Collection; and the 4-star Petasos Beach.
Those holidaying in Greece's capital will enjoy their stay at 5-star NJV Athens Plaza. Travellers can benefit from the custom-designed packages, saving up to 40% off the normal price at the two popular destinations.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, HE Akbar al-Baker said, "I am hugely excited to announce the launch of the first quarantine-free holiday packages for citizens and residents who completed their Covid-19 vaccination. Last summer, due to the current global pandemic, international travel was limited, and many stayed home. With the gradual lifting of restrictions, Qatar Airways Holidays provide our customers with fantastic packages for a much-awaited summer vacation in two popular Greek destinations."
Al-Baker added, "Also, we are delighted to resume three weekly flights to Mykonos. Due to the global pandemic, last year we had to suspend this route, which since 2018 proved very popular with our customers. It is great to return to Mykonos and help compliment Greece's efforts to restart tourism. We know the authorities in Greece are taking precautions to ensure public safety, and visitors will be required to adhere to public health measures put in place given the pandemic."
The news has been welcomed by the Greek Minister for Tourism, Harry Theoharis, who said: "I am proud to welcome Qatar Airways back to Mykonos. It’s very pleasing for us to have our luxury destination, including in the planning of the airline's new summer programme. In this difficult time, this development comes when all of our efforts have been put into the safe opening of Greek tourism. 'All you want is Greece' is our new motto, and with this, we invite friends of Qatar Airways, from all over the world, to visit us."
Quarantine-free holiday packages start at QR4,372 per person and available for travel between May 14 and September 30.
