The Shura Council participated Tuesday in a parliamentary meeting entitled "What will it take to reach gender parity in political participation in a post-Covid-19 world" held by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and UN Women via video conference, QNA reported. The meeting discussed the most important and best practices for achieving gender parity and overcoming the challenges that prevent this in parliaments, especially in light of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which contributed to the decline in women's leadership participation and political decision-making.
The Shura Council was represented in the meeting by HE Reem bint Mohamed al-Mansouri, council member and member of the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians of the IPU.
