Qatar's ambassador to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani on Tuesday received a copy of a bronze medal issued by La Monnaie de Paris from President and CEO of La Monnaie de Paris Marc Schwartz on the occasion of the Qatar-France 2020 Year of Culture.
The process of minting this medal, two copies of which will be deposited in the French National Library and in La Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint), is in the context of the activities of the Qatar-France 2020 Year of Culture which bridged communication and dialogue between the French and Qatari peoples despite the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as contributed to enhancing cultural exchange between Qatar and France by organising joint cultural events.
La Monnaie de Paris is the oldest French national monetary institution, as it is still operating today.
