Division F of District 116 completed its Toastmaster Annual Conference, Flamboyance (TAC-F) 2020-21, online on the Zoom platform recently.
Winners of areas 21, 22, 23 and 24 competed in four categories of speech contests - Humorous Speech, Table Topics, Evaluation and International Speech.
The International Speech winner can reach up to the finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking in August.
In his opening remarks, division director Anil Nair went through the achievements of Division F since the beginning of this term.
The event was the result of "great teamwork and was smoothly conducted with attention to detail", a press statement noted. Dignitaries like Region 11 adviser Sunil, district director Thayalan K, PQD Manzoor Moideen, district CGD Rajesh and other leaders from the district, division, area and clubs attended.
The chief judges were Pavitra Philp, Ravi Kumar, Surya Narayan and Shyam Sunder. The contests were chaired by Biju Davis, Raja, Khorshed, Suganya and Shehariyas. Thirumurugan was the 'Zoom Master', ably supported by various other toastmasters.
The winners of the contests are as following, with the first-place winner mentioned in the beginning of each:
Humorous – Ram Mohan Nair, Parveen and Vasuki; Table Topics – Singaraju, Debasish and Mh Rafi; Evaluation – Kamalesh, Debasish and Parveen; and International – Ahamed Sha, Singaraju and Rammohan.
The first-place winner from each category will represent Division F in the District Toastmaster Annual Conference 20-21 in May.
Apart from the contest, a highlight of the event was the keynote speech by the first winner of the International Taped Speech contest in Kenya, Angela Rarieya, and the Banner Parade chaired by Rammakrishan and co-chair Sruthy, Vijay and Bulbul.
The event was attended by about 300 audience members globally. TAC-F chair Sabari Prasad thanked all role players, the keynote speaker and audience for making the event a grand success.
