As the maiden effort of the department of Malayalam, MES Indian School recently launched its first ever e-magazine in Malayalam, titled 'Sahitham', on the Zoom platform.
The magazine was released by chief guest Hameeda Kadar, principal of MES Indian School.
In the felicitation address, she expressed profound appreciation for the department and said the magazine would "definitely help bring out the latent talents of students and further, the magazine being the first-of-its-kind, would surely add merit to the school and to the department in particular".
She added that such ventures will always be encouraged by the school as it "reveals the innate talents of students at their formative age".
Bijily Mohanakumar, co-ordinator, department of Malayalam, thanked the teachers and students who made the magazine possible.
The programme was compered by Afiya Haroon and Arundathi Gopikrishnan.
The poem recitation by Aleena Mary Jossy and Alwin Jossy rendered a special touch to the virtual function.
The magazine has been compiled by chief editor Bijily Mohanakumar, associate editors Sabino Mathew and Sreekala Dileep Kumar, along with sub-editors Elsy Antony and Smitha Jayakumar.
The programme was graced by Ilias Mohamed, vice-principal and head of Boys’ Section (officiating); Annamma Shammy, vice-principal and head of Girls’ Section; Uzma Fatimee, head of Junior Section (officiating); and Lalitha Srinivas, head of Kindergarten.
