University students, recent graduates and community members in the country will have the opportunity to take part in Qatar Museums’ (QM) internship programmes starting next month.
In a post on its Instagram page, QM said it “offers internship programmes that integrate knowledge and theory acquired in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting of its museums, programmes departments and heritage sites”. The deadline for applications is on March 29.
For a period of three, six and 12 months (according to QM’s operational requirements and needs of the interns; with an option of Remote, Regular and Blended programmes), QM noted that interns can explore, learn and develop new skills by “participating in challenging projects, tasks and assignments”, as well as “getting adequate, reliable and regular supervision and mentoring”.
According to QM, students from abroad will be eligible to attend remote internship programmes only. Internships are offered during the following periods: Spring (April onwards) – call for applications opens in March; and Fall (October onwards) – call for applications opens in September.
QM has internship programmes available in the following Departments: Chairperson’s Office, Liwan Design Studios, Museum of Islamic Art Library Department, Strategy and Quality Assurance Department, Children’s Museum, Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum Library Department, Information and Technology Department, General Collections Department, Msheireb Culture Forum (M7), Human Capital Department, Enterprises Group, Security Management Department, Orientalist Museum, Exhibition Department, National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) Learning and Outreach Department, NMoQ Curatorial Department, NMoQ Exhibitions, Learning and Outreach.
