Ooredoo Qatar has been announced as a Diamond Sponsor of Milipol Qatar 2021, the international event for homeland security and civil defence in the Middle East.
The Milipol Qatar exhibition will run from tomorrow until March 17 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. Qatar launched its first event dedicated to homeland security in the Middle East under the Milipol trademark in 1996.
"Milipol Qatar 2021 coincides with an increasing number of cyberattacks globally. Ooredoo’s proposition includes end-to-end security solutions capable of fully securing operations and monitoring a customer’s infrastructure," the company said in a statement, adding it "aims to create a safe and digitally hyper-connected environment in support of Qatar National Vision 2030, using an innovative global approach to digital services as the main partner in all aspects of corporate digital services and security, providing vital tools for government and military use".
Sponsorship of this pivotal regional security event "reflects Ooredoo’s primary position in two key fields: both as a national carrier providing secured and safe network and connectivity services in line with military-grade standards and as an aspirational leader in ICT solutions", the statement notes.
The sponsorship package is especially relevant given Ooredoo’s specific focus on cyber security, its work on large-scale projects and as a Managed Security Services Provider.
Ooredoo will showcase its ICT platforms at Milipol Qatar 2021, such as its Managed Security Services, including Security Operations Centre, DDoS mitigation suite, Cloud Web Security and Web Application Firewall, and its Data Centre & Cloud, which incorporates Cyber Recovery Solution, Cloud Backup and Microsoft Azure services, Internet of Things solutions, including Fleet Management and IoT Connect, and its Collaboration solutions, which can make communication easier in crises such as the pandemic, the statement adds.
Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani, chief commercial officer at Ooredoo, said: “Yet again, Ooredoo’s extensive experience in the events industry has helped secure a partnership with a major exhibitor.
“Moreover, this is particularly relevant within the homeland security sphere, given our history of supplying crucial services and solutions for safeguarding nationwide infrastructure and networks, as well as technical provision critical to resilience and crisis management.”
He added, “Our unique combination of ISP and ICT capabilities can provide flexible business models to support the State and local businesses, overcoming even the most critical challenges as seen during the recent pandemic.”
Business customers can leverage the Ooredoo Advantage, making "Ooredoo 'Best for Business' thanks to its breadth and depth of talent, best fixed and mobile networks, broadest portfolio of ICT services and solutions, and for being a trusted partner for 60 years".
