Loyola International School recently organised a motivational talk, on a virtual platform, by a decorated hero of the Indian Army, retired Colonel Inderjeet Kumar.
The former soldier, who served for 27 years, was awarded the Chief of the Army Staff Commendation Card.
Kumar urged students to stay focused and overcome all challenges with resilience and determination.
He also asked the teachers and parents to encourage the children and raise their self-esteem.
The speech was followed by a question-and-answer session.
The questions ranged from gender roles in the military services, the criteria to enter the armed services, and the roles of professionals like doctors and engineers in the military.
English department head Rekha Shrikumar moderated the session.
Vice-principal Mou Bera welcomed the gathering and principal P K V Prasad proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme was conducted by student anchors Devanshi Maharia (7A) and Nandini Haran (7B).
Gokul Krishna (7A) sang a patriotic song and the event concluded with the national anthem.
The event was co-ordinated by academic co-ordinator Biby Mytheen and activity co-ordinator Nisha Senthil.
