Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is proud once again to be the Official Partner of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. The four-day tournament began at Education City Golf Club (ECGC) yesterday and will conclude on Sunday against the stunning backdrop of Education City Stadium, a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 venue. As many as 144 elite golfers will be competing for the coveted Mother of Pearl Trophy. Jorge Campillo will be defending his title against an impressive lineup of players including Chris Wood, and 2013 winner and three-time European Tour winner Brandon Stone.
QDF will continue the long-standing tradition of sponsoring the Hole-in-One Competition, rewarding any player who makes a hole-in-one on the 9th hole, a QDF voucher worth $155,000. In its 10-year history, only two players have scooped this prize. The most recent hole-in-one competition winner was Jake McLeod of Australia at the 2019 edition at Doha Golf Club.
Qatar Duty Free Vice President Operations Thabet Musleh said, “Qatar Duty Free is delighted to continue its partnership with the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, as part of our commitment to the Qatar National 2030 Vision and desire to bring people together through one of the many prestigious global sporting events hosted in Qatar. The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters has been a significant sports event in Qatar for more than 20 years, and we are proud once again to sponsor this year’s tournament despite challenges Covid-19 has presented across the last 12 months.
“Last year, Education City Golf Club hosted an amazing tournament and we are thrilled to welcome world-class players to this stunning golf course and to a new challenge this year. We wish all the players a very enjoyable and successful tournament.”
