Nasser al-Ghazali won the Big Tour title during the 11th and penultimate round of the Longines Hathab — Qatar Equestrian Tour supported by The Social & Contribution Fund on Saturday, which was held alongside the Longines Global Champions Tour at Al Shaqab.

Al-Ghazali combined superbly with his bay gelding Quel Homme for two clear and precise round to emerge on top in the Table A, Special two phases, Art. 274.2.5 | 130/145cm class.

Al-Ghazali took 33.74secs and 35.68secs respectively for the two rounds and won the top prize of QR11,250 besides a whopping 30 points from the 11th round for a total of 196 points. He is followed by Saeed Nasser al-Qadi with 182 points, and his brother Hamad Nasser al-Qadi, who recently won His Highness The Amir Sword, on 177 points. Faleh Suwead al-Ajami, who finished fourth in Hathab Round 11, is overall fourth with 173 points.

Finishing as the runner-up in the 11th round yesterday was Faris Saad al-Qahtani astride Happy Feet, while Kamil Sabitov on Carmen claimed the third spot on the podium.

Earlier, the Open Class was bagged by Ghanim Nasser al-Qadi, who rode Cobold to a flawless One round against the clock on 57.13secs which beat the competition.

Nasser al-Ghazali was a shade slower on What A Pleasure clocking 57.72secs and had to settle for the second place. Ali Mohammed al-Qadi on his mount Faily finished third (58.65secs).

Longines Hathab is a twelve-leg annual Qatar Equestrian Tour series for dressage and showjumping and has become extremely popular since its launch in 2017. The best seven results and overall points are taken into account in deciding the winners in various categories. The exciting 12th and final round will be held on March 25th.
